I got back to California in June and we kicked off the summer with a backyard barbecue. I love the ageless feeling unique to this time of year.

World Fire Knife Championships 2011

A couple of months ago for work I had the opportunity to attend two nights of the 2011 World Fire Knife Championships just next door to my school at The Polynesian Cultural Center. I went in 2009 but this this time I was able to sit in the front row and feel the flames singe my eyebrows.

New York

My work flew me out to New York for a journalism conference a little while ago. Hawaii is great but it was really refreshing to get a taste of some cold winter weather.
