I've made it a goal to hike A LOT this summer so I kicked it off this week with the Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve. My friend and I were very pleased to find a nice pond along the trail nestled in tall swaying grass and patches of mustard plants. It amazes me that we have places like this in Los Angeles yet nobody knows they're here. You just have to know where to look.
When I visited LA a year ago, my feeling was that it was one of the most completely urban places I'd ever seen. I wish I had known about this place--it looks beautiful, and would have been a welcome change from the rest of the city!
